Meet JDR
Janice D Robinson, BS, MS, OTR/L
In 2016 with the election of Donald Trump, Janice began a personal crusade to do everything she could to ensure he would not be re-elected for a second term. Janice became Chair of her Precinct in a historically Republican stronghold (Ballantyne), wrote out a strategy with the help of 5 other members, and turned her precinct into a “Blue” Democratic stronghold. Janice continued her crusade by organizing several other precincts around hers and mentored those precinct officers to help them increase their democratic voter turnout. She has also worked on precinct organizing in minority-majority districts in Charlotte as well.
After the death of George Floyd and the ensuing protests, Janice organized a BLM protest in Ballantyne in which 1000+ residents attended. Janice is passionate about ensuring inclusive values and issues affecting everyday people are heard at political tables.
Janice has a BS degree in Business Administration (Management Focus) and a MS degree in Occupational Therapy. She served as the NC Program Director for Red Wine and Blue in which she built the NC program from scratch writing and implementing an annual strategy that 4.5 years later resulted in the RWB NC community growing to over 40,000. She recruited, hired & trained over 20 diverse RWB full-time and seasonal staff making the NC team one of the most effective in the RWB organization. She has served on the Mecklenburg County Nursing Home Advisory Committee and is a 2021 Spring Fellow of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership (IOPL).
